This course is your path to becoming a certified American Heart Association instructor, equipped with the knowledge and confidence to teach life-saving skills like CPR, first aid, and AED use. Whether you want to empower your colleagues, lead a class for new parents, or offer training to a youth group, this course provides everything you need to start your journey as a certified instructor. What's the difference between a Heartsaver and a BLS instructor? While both are certified to teach crucial life-saving skills, their primary audiences and the depth of the material they can teach are different. Heartsaver Instructors are authorized to teach the full suite of Heartsaver courses. These courses are designed for the general public—people with little to no medical background—who need a completion card for a job or for personal preparedness. This includes courses like Heartsaver CPR AED, Heartsaver First Aid, and Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid. BLS (Basic Life Support) Instructors are certified to teach both Heartsaver courses & BLS courses. The BLS course is specifically designed for healthcare professionals and first responders. Prerequisites: -Heartsaver® CPR Certification -can be added at checkout -First Aid Provider Certification  -can be added at checkout -Completion of the Instructor Heartsaver Essentials Online Course (included in fee) (approximately 2 hours)   -Purchase of the AHA Heartsaver Instructor Manual (eBook or hard copy)   -Instructions for purchasing the Heartsaver Instructor manual will be provided upon enrollment. Requirements after the course: You will be required to have Instructor Monitoring by an AHA Instructor within 90 days of class completion.   We include Instructor Monitoring in the course cost. You may schedule your Instructor Monitoring Session with your instructor anytime . More about this will be discussed during class.
